My photography career didn’t begin on the beaches of Destin.

More than 30 years ago, I started as a photographer’s assistant, learning the craft from the ground up. That foundation led to a career in commercial, advertising, editorial, fashion, and corporate photography, working throughout the United States and Europe with businesses, agencies, publications, and corporate clients.

Those years taught me far more than lighting and camera techniques. They taught me how to work with people, create authentic expressions, tell a story through a single image, and deliver a professional client experience from beginning to end.

Why JDCPhoto Is Different

After years of photographing advertising campaigns, fashion, and corporate assignments, I realized the photographs people valued most weren’t hanging in office buildings—they were hanging in their homes.

That’s what inspired me to focus my career on creating timeless beach portraits for families visiting Destin, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, and Florida’s Emerald Coast.

My Approach

Every family is unique, and no two sessions are ever the same.

Whether I’m photographing a family of four, a surprise proposal, or coordinating a reunion of thirty-five people, my goal is always to create a relaxed, enjoyable experience where genuine moments naturally unfold.

Beyond the Camera

Like so many of the families I photograph, I fell in love with Florida’s Emerald Coast. The white sand beaches, emerald waters, and incredible sunsets continue to inspire me every day.

When I’m not photographing families, you’ll often find me exploring Scenic Highway 98, documenting the area’s unique neighborhoods, or working on a coffee table book celebrating the hidden beauty of the Emerald Coast.
